#6: Friends Unseen
I was so excited to finally get this release a few months ago when I traded for it. The price on this has REALLY gotten run up this last year or so. On the topic of music though, Friends Unseen is amazing. Female vox in the same vein as Eldritch Anisette & Everyone Asked About You. Just very mellow emo. I would consider this essential listening. Friends Unseen was out of Umea, Sweden but interestingly, their sole 7" was released on the UK label, Subjugation. They seemed to have had their run from around 1997 to 1998. I recall reading that they were playing shows as early as 97' and the fact that the 7" was recorded in February 1998 seems to back that up. Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything other than the two songs on this 7" surface. The fact they were playing shows means there's probably 100% other songs but these are likely doomed to rot forever on some practice tape or studio reel. Most of the members didn't do much after this, evident by the fact that more than half the band doesn't even have discogs pages for them. One exception was Lars who went on to form The International Noise Conspiracy (which is definitely worth noting).
